Mission statement


The purpose of this website is to showcase Ryan Foley’s knowledge, skillset and opportunity for growth in the fishing industry as a fisherman. Foley's skills include the ability to think critically, the capability of engaging in applied research, and optimal customer service and management traits.

An ancillary but equally important purpose of the website is to act as a professional presence for Ryan Foley for attracting prospective fishing boat captains, either independent contractors or fishing boat captains who are employed through marine industry corporations, for the purpose of hiring Ryan Foley as an entry-level fisherman to enable Foley to further grow in his knowledge and skills of the fishing industry and also to learn business practices therein.  Foley, aside from becoming a fisherman as an independent contractor, and one day, a fishing boat captain with his own crew, has goals of providing to humanity causes such as the provision of fresh fish harvests to homeless shelters and public school lunch programs in his local community with stability, authenticity and resilience in his efforts.

Personal Accomplishments

Best personal accomplishments for Foley are identified as the fact Foley is a skilled fisherman. While a fisherman for sport, and not self-employed as an independent contractor fisherman, Foley has been capable of employing his skills as a fisherman to attain a large harvest. As Foley has strong liberal studies skills, Foley has, for the past year, been donating his harvests to homeless shelters and community events. Foley considers his efforts to be philanthropic in nature, and thus, philanthropy is one of Foley's major traits. As a personal accomplishment, Foley is most proud of his abilities as a fisherman, in not only learning how to fish with strong abilities, but also how to share the surplus harvest that Foley obtains from fishing. To Foley, fishing and philanthropy go hand-in-hand. 

Professional/Academic Accomplishments 

Foley's academic accomplishments are best illustrated as his ability in maintaining 'A' averages in his coursework, within a Liberal Studies course, to discuss as an example. Therein, the best accomplishments that Foley has made is in learning the importance of cultural diversity, social sciences, and humanities, and how such relates to communication modalities as well as how to effectively design a solution to a given societal problem. Learning how to apply critical thinking as well as ethics in how decisions are made and actions are taken, is another key component of Foley's academic accomplishments. As for Foley's professional skills, best accomplishments are noted as effective management of teams, strategic negotiation with customers in relation to their needs and expectations in service, and further, the ability to systematically make decisions in organizational contexts, whether for customer service, inventory management, e-commerce application and maintenance, or scanning industry trends.

Foley's focus relates to his life/career goals insofar as his abilities, as shown in his artifacts section and resume, as well as mission statement, in that foley is quite capable of applying himself in a liberal arts and sociological career choice. foley is not only capable of understanding himself, intrapersonally, but is also capable of UNDERSTANDING others, interpersonally. Further, foley's abilities are showcased as communicative abilities, management abilities, management, and the ability to engage in either INDEPENDENT or group positions with individuals of different demographic groups.
